About Letitia

Letitia Blanco-Alcalá, LCSW, obtained her Masters degree from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC in 1999.  During that same time she received specialized training and certification in Child Centered Play Therapy through the National Institute of Relationship Enhancement in Bethesda, Maryland.  While much of her early work focused on Child Welfare and at-risk populations including immigrant communities; ongoing training and  professional experience has resulted into a branching out into work with adolescents and adults within the population at-large.   Trilingual communication skills (English, Spanish, and American Sign Language) has enhanced her intervention and advocacy efforts.

 
Ms. Blanco-Alcalá has worked extensively at various levels of case management and intervention, to include larger systems such as governmental agencies and courts. In addition, she has extensive training and clinical work experience providing psychotherapy interventions to individuals and groups.

 

Ms. Blanco-Alcalá is skilled in assessment, intervention and advocacy. Her strength-based approach, along with psychoeducation and cognitive restructuring interventions, has proven effective in assisting clients in achieving problem resolution, improved coping, increased success in achieving life tasks, and in gaining overall greater fulfillment in their lives.
